Macro fiber dosage and concrete design criteria
There is no single macro fiber dosage that is right for every concrete project. Quantity follows the performance requirements and engineering design, then needs validation in the actual mix and placement process.
Begin with the project brief
Document loading, subgrade or support conditions, element thickness, concrete properties, exposure, joint plan and the required crack-control or post-crack performance.
Match tested performance to design
Use relevant product test results and the specified calculation method to assess residual strength. Fiber type, geometry and distribution affect outcomes; a simple kilogram-for-kilogram comparison is not sufficient.
Verify on site
Coordinate trial mixing, workability checks, addition sequence, placement, finishing and curing. Changes to the mix or site method may require a fresh technical review.
Frequently asked questions
Can a dosage calculator design a slab?
No. A quantity calculator estimates material needs only after the engineer has established the target dosage and verified the design.
